Is It Really Age?

I fell into the same trap!

Have you ever said: “I guess I’m just getting older.

It’s one of the biggest lies you can tell yourself when movement becomes difficult.

I am guilty as charged!

I believed my decreasing squat depth & sore knees were simply part of turning 63.

False!

My coach & physical therapist identified a major limitation: ankle dorsiflexion (your ability to move your knee forward over your foot).

Without enough ankle mobility, your body often compensates by limiting squat depth or placing more stress on your knees.

Instead of avoiding squats, I worked on:
👣 Heel-elevated bodyweight squats
👣 Daily ankle mobility drills
👣 Progressive loading through a pain-tolerable range

The result?
✅ Deeper squats
✅ Less knee discomfort
✅ Better confidence moving

This doesn’t mean every painful knee is caused by poor ankle mobility.

Knee pain can have many causes. But it’s a great reminder that reduced movement isn’t always an inevitable consequence of aging.

Keep asking: “What can I improve?” instead of “I’m just getting old.”

Your body often has more potential than you think…

Have you ever blamed your age for something that turned out to be fixable?

I’m happy to help you move more pain free, just reach out.
