Shawna has never been pushy or high pressure. She simply leads by example and shares her knowledge, which is extensive in fitness, nutrition and in the struggles that many of us have when it comes to losing weight, being fit and being the best version of ourselves.

 After some time working out and an ongoing struggle to lose 20 lbs that had crept up on me as I aged, I reached out to Shawna. She had consistently sent the message that just because middle age is creeping up, the scale doesn’t need to. It was contrary to what I had been told that I should just give up and accept the fact that I would be frumpy and overweight through my later years. I wasn’t even fifty yet and I was hobbling every morning from inflammation in my Achilles’ tendons. I thought, “this is not how it has to be!  I’m too young to be so decrepit”!  And Shawna was living proof of that.

She is around my age but fit, strong and healthy. I wanted what she had and what many of her clients had achieved. Through one of her challenges, Shawna was there for me guiding me to become accountable and take charge of my health. Again, she was never pushy or high pressure, never “over indulgent” when I was struggling or having a hard time. Simply present with a “you are not alone, how can I help, I am here for you” attitude that I have come to love about her.  With her guidance I have reached my goals, had some setbacks and come back stronger because of her never ending support. 

I have become a permanent fixture coaching with Shawna. I hope she never stops doing what she does. The lives she has helped change for the better are many and immeasurable. It is impossible for me to even begin to tell you the number of ways that Shawna’s program and virtual coaching have changed my life in just a couple of short paragraphs so I’ll stick to the highlights of my journey. Through her Challenge Workouts I have managed to regain control of my health and waistline in ways that I know I will be able to sustain. Why? Because my workouts are never boring and are often really fast (some days as little as 12 minutes!). She has taught me the difference between being a slave to a treadmill and working effectively so that my muscles are burning fat all day long, not just while I’m working out. Trust me, through her workouts my body has turned into a fat burning machine!

In following Shawna’s program I’ve managed to trim 7″ from my waist, 7 1/4″ from below my waist, 3″ from my hips, 2 1/2″ from my thighs and 1 1/2″ from my arms. I’ve also lost 25.4 lb! But even better than that, at the age of 50 I am in the best shape of my life (this was confirmed just last week at my annual physical). I recently ran 10K and set a personal best for my time (a record that was set the year I turned 40) and I hadn’t run in 7 months! To be able to shatter a record that was set by my ten years younger self, at a time in my life when most women are told to accept that they are supposed to be slowing down, well there isn’t a food on earth that tastes as good as that feels! (Ok, bacon comes pretty close, but because I work out like this I still get to enjoy it occasionally).
