Menopause is an especially vulnerable time & potential cash cow for marketers…
Be discerning with whom you listen!
Don’t concern yourself with these things:
1. What your friend is doing. Or what a social influencer is eating in a day. How much weight anyone has lost in a specific time… On and on.
Everyone is different. Your body is going to do what it will do. Be patient and run your own race.
2. Your exercise is wrong.
All exercise is good, do what feels good for you.
3. You’re eating the wrong protein.
Eat any and all protein sources that you can – it’s not the ‘fun food’, so just do your best.
4. The calories/macros My Fitness Pal (or other online calculator provides).
These are generally too low. It’s best to get a human to help you determine this because the formulas don’t take into account things like diet history, lifestyle factors etc.
5. The calories your device says you have burned with exercise.
Often devices can overestimate these calories by up to 40%. You shouldn’t be ‘eating back’ these calories, especially if you’re trying to lose fat.
6. The latest ‘fad’ on social media like weighted vests, GLP1 micro-dosing, and almost anything a social media influencer tries to sell you.
Generally, these things will come with an affiliate code or you’ll be sold a ‘solution’ to a problem an influencer has created.
I’m here to help you sort fact from fiction. Feel free to run ideas by me before you get caught up in any sort of hype.
