7 Tips to Get Unpleasant Tasks DONE

Moving? Renovating? Cleaning the garage?

For me, this summer has brought a move and a renovation – both happy events that require a lot of work to accomplish.

Whatever your unpleasant task, I’ve found the tips helpful…

1.Terrible jobs are less terrible when done together
2.Small steps done repeatedly add up
3.Only one person can fall apart at a time
4.Have something to look forward to: the end result, a nice meal, etc.
5.Time fills the space you allow, set a daily timer & finish time
6.Keep a few healthy habits and don’t stress over a missed training session or imperfect food
7.Have as much fun as you can – make it memorable

I’m most thankful to have been able to implement rule 1.

And I’m also very thankful that my body is strong enough to be able to lift heavy things and work all day long, I know this isn’t possible for everyone in their 60’s.

What unpleasant job have you recently undertaken?

What tips to cope did I miss?
