If you get bored with exercise from time to time…
Congratulations!
It’s proof that you’re sticking with it…even when it’s not shiny & new…
You’ll have good & better days working out.
The only regret about exercise you’ll have is if you stop doing it.
So workout, even if you’re bored.
Your future self will thank you.
*This ‘boredom’ was a conversation I recently had with a client new to resistance training. She felt that workouts had lost their new sizzle.
And YES, there are only so many ways you can dress up a squat (or other beneficial movement).
As a coach, I do my best to ‘fancify’ workout programming but, at the end of the day: a squat is a squat, or a push up is a push up.
You need to push through the boredom and just ‘do the work’ some days and keep the bigger picture in mind.
Results come when you stick with it, not when you jump ship for something new when boredom sets in.
PS. As for me, I love Olympic weight lifting (some days) but practicing TWO movements (and variations there of) is very repetitive. As is swimming lap after lap in a pool. Some days I love every moment, other days, I just do the work. Boredom is simply part of the process.
