Where fitness is concerned, sometimes progress means holding your ground.
If you’re maintaining a certain level of strength & skill level over time, this is PROGRESS.
This is what I’m learning about my training as a 62 year old.
Whether this is in the gym, in the pool, on a hike or on my bike, anywhere really…
There will be good and better days where performance is concerned.
The main thing is just to continue to show up.
I don’t mean to say that there’s no room for physical improvement with aging.
Depending on the activity, beginners will definitely make progress in leaps and bounds. But veterans to a specific activity won’t enjoy the same progression. This is to be expected and not a reason to quit (at least this is what I keep telling myself!).
Kudos to YOU if you show up and challenge yourself on the regular. Your future self thanks you.
PS. Anyone else’s warm up almost as long as their workout?
PPS. If you need some accountability to show up, or some direction with fitness, reach out.
