Easy Solution to Keep a Habit in Place

If you’re someone who enjoys checking off a box or crossing off a list, this challenge is for you!

Summer can be a time where good habits just seem to fly out the window.

This simple challenge can help you keep things a little more on track.

It’s called ‘Don’t Break the Streak‘.

For me, it’s a daily plank. This is a doable habit I can maintain anytime, anywhere.

In fact, I planked everywhere in Italy, I’ve even crawled out of bed at night and hit the floor when I realized I forgot to do it.

All because I didn’t want to ‘Break the Streak’ (see my streak in the video).

I’ve been planking since April 22/24…and I hope to incorporate it into my day for as long as I can.

I’m up to a 7 minute plank, but ANY length of plank is fine, I probably only did 5 minutes when I got out of bed that time, I didn’t turn my phone on, I just did 50 slow breaths to mark time – but, even if I just did 30 seconds, I would have kept my streak going.

Do you see how this builds confidence in your ability to adhere to a healthy lifestyle? You can start with something small, establish the habit, then over time, add other habits.

I’ve challenged my clients to choose something that they’ll do daily over the summer.

I suggested things such as:

  • daily movement snack
  • daily plank
  • a specific step count
  • 100g protein daily
  • a water goal
  • ANYTHING

The challenge should be DOABLE, but slightly challenging.
