Try this if you hate the scale!
Use a measuring tape, if you want to assess weight loss progress without the scale.
This works especially well if you’re also resistance training.
You may be gaining a bit of muscle & losing a bit of fat so your weight seems to stay the same.
But ‘body composition’ may be changing in other areas but your waist measurement should stay the same or go down.
As well, if you’re 40-plus, fat tends to accumulate around the middle more than in other areas.
If your waist measurement is staying the same or dropping, you can be fairly confident that you’re not gaining fat.
Remember that what gets measured improves, so assessing progress regularly will help you course correct your actions.
