Success Story – Leanne Savard

I’m super excited to highlight Leanne who has been a dedicated member of our fit family at Calgary NW Fit Body Boot Camp since 2012.

My name is Leanne and I am a mother of 2 active boys – 13 & 11 who both play club basketball. I’ve played hockey for over 25 years and I enjoy traveling and seeing the world! I balance my home life with my fulltime career at WestJet, as well as working part time with Monat.

A girlfriend introduced me to CNWFBBC in September 2012 and I was hooked!! At that time, I was going through a challenging time in my life (marriage separation) and knew it was vital for my mental health to stay as positive as I could and surround myself with people who made me better and lifted me up! I set a goal when I started bootcamp in September 2012 to complete my first Tough Mudder 20km Obstacle Course Race in Whistler. I achieved this goal in June 2013 and again in June 2015!! This year my plan is to complete my 3rd Tough Mudder OCR in Nashville in September 2018!

I have tried other big box gyms, home workouts like P90X and Orange Theory gyms in the past. All programs that I didn’t stick with as it wasn’t as FUN! Bootcamp isn’t always easy, but at least it’s fun with an amazing group of people!

I have LOST inches all over my body and have created muscle since coming to Calgary NW Fit Body Bootcamp! And I have GAINED confidence, agility, strength and a FAMILY! I find my skating at hockey has not slowed down (in comparison to others my age) as my fitness level is very high! My asthma has also decreased.

I love the people the most at CNWFBBC. Everyday when I walk into our FBBC gym, there are always so many smiling faces! Everyone is easy to chat with and very happy to motivate each other! I have met some lifelong friends at boot camp and cherish the time we get to spend together!

I’m happy with my fitness journey thus far and am looking my 40’s in the face… ready to take on new challenges, push myself out of my comfort zone by trying new things and perfecting my diet and eating (if there is ever such a thing! 😉

Leanne’s positive outlook on life, living a healthy lifestyle and goal setting is inspiration to us all!! Love that she is part of our fit family!!
