I just turned 55 (OMGosh, how did I get so old?)…
Last year I decided to do 54 pull ups and my goal was to beat 5 minutes.
This year, I thought I’d try to beat my time from last year, 55 pull ups in under 5 minutes.
Looking at the video, I see the pull ups got a little ugly – a few of them were not as high as they should be so I did a couple of extra just in case (plus I got confused on the counting so I’d rather over shoot the number than be short!).
In any case, you can see in the video that I beat my previous year’s time…
I did this to show that age is just a number, you can do anything you put your mind to.
You see, I know that many women over 40 experience weight gain and you may be surprised to discover that your weight gain isn’t entirely related to age and hormone related issues.
Menopause isn’t the culprit, there’s something else at work.
That’s why I made another short video for you here that describes the REAL reason for mid-life weight gain.
Sacropenia – or muscle wasting is one of the MAIN reasons your metabolism is slowing down.
When you include the ‘right’ kind of exercise into your daily routine (and NO! you don’t need to be doing 55 butterfly pull ups to benefit), you will build and maintain lean muscle. This will keep you functional and keep your metabolism stoked to keep weight gain at bay.
I can help.
