The Down Side of Social Media

Don’t let someone else get in your head…😳

I was saddened by the comment left on a post I made on Instagram. It most probably was an automated response and no harm was meant by it, but it made me rage at how the comment undermines women’s self esteem.

To be honest, my feelings weren’t really hurt, (well maybe a little).

❌I just hate the idea that no matter where we look, the ‘ideal’ is out of reach. We live in a world of air brushing and photo shop so we all may feel like we fall short.

❌We get the message that we aren’t good enough.

βœ…We are enough.

We are all beautiful, just as we are. ☺️🌟

Can we all improve our physique? Probably, but we should do so in the name of health and not because of someone else’s idea of beauty.

✳️Update: The doctor reached out to me to apologize. He said that he had some kind of automatic commenting turned on (not sure the service he used) but he has disabled it so that this won’t happen again.

πŸ™πŸ»I thanked him for being open to changing his strategy – I don’t believe he was malicious with his intent, perhaps just a little thoughtless. πŸ™„

▢️I purposely blocked his name but someone else found him and tagged him in the post. I removed the tag.

▢️I did not want to hurt his business, I was more interested in him changing his marketing strategy.

βœ…I also wanted to send the message that we should use social media to love up fellow women instead of tearing them down.

✳️Mission accomplished πŸ˜€

Thank YOU for your support πŸ™πŸ»
