It was probably to eat MORE vegetables. Am I right?

Our mom’s were probably pretty smart. If we ate more veggies (and less processed foods) we probably wouldn’t have the belly fat we’re dealing with now.

I feel pretty good knowing that I’m giving this ‘mom’ advice to my kids, even if it seems to fall on deaf ears. Thankfully most times I can see my kids making healthy choices even without the evil ‘mom glare’.

Remarkably, people tend to know MORE about the right things to eat, but they want to complicate things. Easy solutions like eating more vegetables and STOP eating crap seem to be lost in the shuffle.

No one ever gets fat eating broccoli or even apples. If we just stuck to more fresh foods, less processed stuff, less sugar and man made stuff, we’d be a whole lot better off.

Too bad that bad stuff tastes so good though :/

Fact is, if all you eat is the bad stuff, it’s hard to develop a taste for the truly tasty natural flavors of fresh food. All that sodium and those artificial sweeteners (up to 600 times sweeter than sugar) ruin our taste buds.

So do as your mother says and eat more vegetables and fruits.

Now, as promised, I have a fun bodyweight workout for you that you can do anywhere. All you need is a small space and a timer.

You’ll do 5 minutes, 5 reps of these 5 exercises:burpee funny

  • burpee
  • push up shoulder touch
  • mountain climber (each leg)
  • prisoner reverse lunge (each leg)
  • prisoner squat

This is an AMRAP set. This means you’ll repeat these 5 exercises ‘as many rounds as possible’ in the 5 minutes.

Now even though the workout is 5 minutes long, if you can, repeat this AMRAP set 2-3 more times, with a one minute rest between. Count how many rounds you get each set and try to match or beat your rounds from the previous set.

You get a full body, heart pounding workout in small space, a short time and with NO equipment. I’d say you have NO excuse NOT to do a workout when it’s as simple as this. If you like this workout, you’ll find plenty more like this one in Challenge Burpees.
