Here’s my friend Dennis Heenan. It’s unlikely that we’ll be sharing shoes or pants ever. He’s one of the tallest dudes I know. I feel like a pixie next to him. This dude can really move surprisingly well with those long legs.
We were in Vegas for a meeting of Fit Pros not too long ago and being the fitness geek I am, I had my jump rope with me. Dennis and I broke out and did a little video for you on the merits of jumping rope.
The great thing about jumping rope is that it’s surprisingly easy on your knees when you do a double foot jump.
Also, you can jump rope anywhere. You can get a FAST, fat burning workout that will boost your metabolism for hours after you’re done, unlike low intensity cardio (like jogging) where your calorie burning ends with the workout.

This is a perfect ‘finisher’ or encore workout that you can do at the end of your workout. OR, if you only have 4 minutes, this is MORE EFFECTIVE for fat burning and fitness conditioning than 30 minutes of low intensity cardio.
This is a ‘do anywhere’ bodyweight workout:
Super Hero Bodyweight Seven
- 7 burpees
- 7 squat jumps
- 7 push ups
- 10 seconds of ALL OUT stationary sprints
Repeat AMRAP (as many rounds as possible) in 4 minutes
