Improving Upper Body Strength with the Assisted Pull Up

The assisted pull up can be done in a variety of places.

Do you have a set of bleachers close by? Lots of hockey rinks, soccer centers, baseball diamonds etc have these. Check out the back of the bleacher to see if there’s a cool ‘X’ like frame that you can use to step up on for an assisted pull up.

You’d be surprised at how doing an assisted pull up is your answer to getting your first pull up, or increasing the number of pull ups you can do. The assisted pull up works the back muscles ‘eccentrically’ and this is the strength building phase of the work.

Find yourself a bleacher and give it a go. Don’t sit at your child’s game, at half time get in the game!
