Have Your Cake and Eat it Too

I know I’m gonna upset you with what I’m  gonna say…but I’m gonna say it anyway…

“Don’t be surprised that you have a muffin top and no energy if you feed your body junk.”

It’s not brain surgery. If you want to feel good, you can’t eat like these ladies in this picture. You can’t really see, but they each had a dessert that was no less than the size of my head. Now maybe this was a special occasion, and I know this is sort of mean of me, but I’m using this to get my point across. Maybe this was a special occasion or something, but never the less, on what planet would it be right for me to eat this much sugar and fat and expect to feel good and energized? Just sayin…

So, the message that I really want to convey today is this…enjoy treats in moderation.

The moment that I realized that there would always be good tasting food available to me, was the moment I learned to eat moderately. It’s a simple concept. If there is a spectacular cake in front of me that I absolutely love, I don’t need to eat the entire thing at one sitting. I could always make or buy another cake. Why would I want to store that cake in my waist line or butt anyway? Isn’t that what Tupperware is for?

But I SHOULD enjoy some of it, just in a moderate amount. I should savor every bite so I don’t feel deprived. (And maybe I will deprive myself sometimes, I’m not gonna have cake every day, I’ll save having cake on a special occasion.)

That’s my secret. I know I can always have a treat. I never feel deprived and I still feel great and I won’t blow my fitness and fat loss goals.

What do you think? Am I way off base here? Let me know what you think…
