Positive Energy for True Happiness

For those of you that don’t know, I’m in Orange, CA for the Fitness Business Summit 2010. I look forward to this event all year because I get to take a break from my regular routine and hang out with the coolest fitness professionals from around the world. There are folks here from all over the USA, Canada and Europe as well as a few ‘down unders’ in attendance.

There are great speakers and an incredible energy here. The reason I’m telling you this is that it’s a good reminder that we all need to surround ourselves with positive energy. What ever that means to you, you need to have a good vibe going on in your life. That includes surrounding yourself with positive people. There’s nothing that kills a mood or a good day like an energy vampire. Seek out like minded supportive people in all areas of your life and you’ll feel rejuvenated and refreshed. As well, try not to be the energy vampire that others are trying to avoid. The cup can either be half empty or half full. Life is A LOT easier if you choose to view that cup half full.

Of course things aren’t always easy and there’s always a glitch in plans, it’s the lens you choose to view the every day ups and downs of life that make all the difference. If you want to be the kind of person that people want to be around, then turn up the positive attitude, find the silver lining and good in everyone and you’ll never be lonely.

I know this blog is supposed to be about fitness and nutrition, but I feel that positive energy in your life is as important as your daily workout and solid, supportive nutrition. A healthy body, mind and spirit makes for true and lasting health and happiness.

Okay, I’m heading back into the conference now to learn a ton more and soak up the energy of this event. We go long and hard, 9-6 pm for four days, but it’s so worthwhile to learn and network with this great bunch.

Here my pal, Lindsay Vastola and I ham it up with our mentor, Steve Hochman’s new Corvette. He just got it yesterday, otherwise we would have draped ourselves on the hood. It’s a sweet ride and I know cuz he took us for a spin…
