Any female fat loss routine worth doing is doing should include some core exercises. But don’t be fooled into thinking that doing core exercises alone will get rid of the abdominal fat that’s hanging on. You’ll also need to include some high intensity interval training, or HIIT. This is the kind of cardio that I fully endorse. It’s not the long slow plod around the block or shopping mall. It’s going to get your heart racing and get you sweating. High intensity interval training can be shorter and more intense, short and sweet.
Now as far as training your core goes, the crunch is your LAST go to exercise. You’d be surprised at how effective the plank is at strengthening your core. The front plank and a side plank on each side is a great start. You can start on your knees if needed, make sure that you don’t feel any lower back pain. Ensure that your shoulders are directly over the hands or elbows and the hips are level-no butt in the air. If you lower your hips you’ll feel that sweet spot where you’ll abs will grab. Hold that position for as long as you can.
